I stayed at Hostal La Casa De Juan in El Valle de Anton for a few days and it was a wonderful experience. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful. The bunk was comfortable and the sheets were clean. The room was spacious and had warmish to hot water in the shower. The toilet worked well and there were plenty of sitting areas to relax in. The kitchen had a lot of equipment and there was complimentary coffee and tea. The location was excellent, close to little supermarkets and the main market.
Totally recommend this hotel.

The breakfast at this hostel is like a feast fit for a hiking warrior. With an American breakfast spread that rivals any restaurant, you'll fuel up for your adventurous day ahead.
Communication before arrival was lacking.

They had a blast swinging on the swings and climbing on the colorful slides. It was a perfect place for them to burn off some energy. The playground even had benches for us parents to sit and watch.
My wife says that it would have been great if the hotel had a babysitting service.

The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The hostel had a great atmosphere with comfortable sofas and hammocks scattered throughout. It was also convenient to have a kitchen and a huge garden area available for use. The hot water showers were a nice touch, especially given the cooler weather. The location was perfect, situated near the start of many hiking trails, saving me time in the morning. Additionally, having a supermarket and a cheap local restaurant just a short distance away was very convenient.
One minor drawback was that the rooms were a bit cramped with limited space to store belongings. It would have been nice to have more storage options.

My recent stay at Hostal La Casa De Juan was fantastic. I was in El Valle de Anton for hiking and stayed for a few days. The location was perfect, just a 5-10 minute walk into town and close to good shops. The hostel also had a great assortment of fellow travelers, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The owners were extremely welcoming, especially Anna from Germany who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was stress-free. The hostel itself was spacious and had a lot of potential, with plenty of places to hang out and relax. The kitchen was well-equipped, and they even provided free bikes for guests to use. I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this place.
Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.
